Like many others, I am guilty of buying copious amounts of washi tape that never gets used other than to hold down my dies as they go through my Bigshot. It wouldn’t be so bad if I would immediately recognize that this is the ultimate fate of my washi tape and use it for this purpose immediately. Oh no, not me. I wait until it is half dried up, sticks to inself, and comes off the roll in ripped little strips and only then do I decide to use it for this purpose. Now that is the new definition of insanity my friends. So why am I telling you this? It is because the washi tape I used on today’s card is the exception to the rule. I not only love this washi tape, but also have used it on real cards several times. I actually hoard it, if the truth be known and would never use it for the lowly job of holding down my dies.
This card is simple and came together in minutes. It uses a sticker in the Reminisce collection kit Coffee and Tea that describes me to a “tea” (or coffee rather).
Supplies: Reminisce Coffee and Tea Collction kit, Alideco washi tape, Sizzix embossing folder, Avery Elle Wonky Stitches die set, Simon Says Stamp card base and Scor tape.
Today’s card is a shout out to Stamplorations. In the last Coffee Lovers Blog Hop I won all the dies used in this card except for the Wonky Stitched frame which is from Reverse Confetti. So once again, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Supplies: Dies Cutplorations, Reverse Confetti All Framed Up die, Reminisce Coffee and Tea patterned paper, Authentique patterned paper, Stampin Up corrugated cardstock, Scotch foam tape, Scrapbook Adhesives foam squares, Simon Says Stamp card base and Scor tape.
Funny isn’t it, As much as I struggled yesterday to get a presentable card to post, today’s card was easy peasy! It is not the most brilliant and certainly not the most complicated card, but I liked how it turned out. The holographic paper just reminds me of how that first cup of coffee in the morning, just makes me light up and get after the day.
Supplies: Hampton Arts sentiment stamp, Lil Inker stitched rectangle die, Simon Says Stamp Coffee Cup and Adult Beverages dies, DCWV Holographic and Foil paper, Nuvo Drops in clear, Simon Says Stamp card base and Scor tape.
I am hopping with joy today as I am one of the Flash Prize winners in the Coffee Lovers Bloghop. I was lucky enough to win a die set from Stamplorations. I think it has a coffee theme so I will have something new with which to make a card for the next Coffee Lovers Bloghop. How cool is that?
Sadly though, my creativity was equal and opposite to my level of joy at winning. Seriously, the recycle bin is overflowing with cast offs. I wanted to do a card using inspiration from a card that Kathy Racoosin did on her 30 Day Challenge today. I wanted to take her idea of mixing a coloured and a identical but neutral pattern together on a card, but at the same time make it a shaker card as well. Several tries later, I finally came up with this card.
Supplies: Jillibean Soup cardbase and shaker element, Papertrey Ink Doodle Feather coloring sheets, Prismacolor pencils and gamsol, Doodlebug sequins, Simon Says Stamp sentiment stamp, Nuvo drops, Lil Inker stitched rectangle dies
Today’s card is the card where I cut out tiny Starbucks Logos out of some washi tape and pasted them on my coffee cups. I used Starbucks Spring cups colours in keeping with the “Spring” theme in the bloghop.
Supplies: Simon Says Stamp Coffee & Tea stamp set, Tim Holtz Slatter Stencil, Copic markers, Hero Arts Ink, Woodgrain paper from Paper and More, Simon Says Stamp card base, Alideco washi tape and Scor tape.
Sometimes my best card ideas come out of a desire to put in to use, something that I just bought. Sometimes it seems to have absolutely nothing in common with the task at hand. Sometimes it just seems to evolve into something that works. Sometimes is today, I think, as I love this card. Maybe it is just that it was a lot of work and I am saying that it works when it doesn’t. No matter, I love it, and someone is going to get this card in the mail.
Supplies: Hero Arts March 2017 Kit, Doodlebug patterned paper Sugar & Cream, Rubbernecker and Simon Says Stamp Coffee and Tea sentiment stamps, Simon Says stamp cardbase and Scor tape
Two things occurred to me today before I made this card. One is that I am not too good at saving scraps of things for later use. The other is that I am downright poor at using Washi tape ever. I see it, I like it, I buy it and nothing……………… So today I decided to reverse those two trends and make a card for the Coffee Lovers hop at the same time.
I made a card which I will post in the next couple of days, that features Starbuck’s spring colours. To ensure people realized that it was indeed Starbuck’s spring colours, I wanted to adorn the small cups with something that looked like the Starbucks logo. I had bought some amazing Washi tape that had just the thing on one of its’ images. The problem was that the logo image only appeared every six inches or so on the tape. That left quite a few bits of unused tape.
Todays card uses that leftover Washi tape.
I was going to explain why I made this card the way I did……………………..fragments of Washi tape, holographic cardstock, the sentiment dream etc. etc., but then decided if I had to explain it, the card probably isn’t working. I did not want to think about that, so I am just posting it.
DCWV holographic paper, Simon Says Stamp Dream and Parade of Hearts dies, Alideco washi tape, Paper and More Woodgrain cardstock, Simon Says Stamp card base and Scor tape
The last time you saw this turkey, he was green, eating tuna and celebrating St Paddy’s Day. Today he is back to a more normal colour and is just celebrating the joy of a good cup of coffee. Love this stamp from Judith and Heather.
Supplies: Stamp Judith and Heather, Doodlebug patterned paper Sugar and Cream, City Girls Retail Therapy stamp set from The Ton, Memory Box cross stitched rectangles dies, copic markers, Stickles, fun foam, X-pressit cardstock, Simon Says Stamp card base and Scor tape.
It is that time again! Time for another Coffee Lovers Bloghop. Time for me to be astounded once again at the number of never seen before coffee, tea and cocoa cards that can be created in one week!
I rarely put ready made stickers on cards, but these ones from Doodlebug were just too cute to ignore. Then when I saw the Doodlebug paper that matched the stickers, it was all over.
Here is one of the resulting cards:
Doodlebug Cream and Sugar patterned paper and stickers, Create a smile chipboard coffee, Simon Says stamp coffee cup die, Dienamics Blueprint 27 dies, Woodgrain paper from Paper and More, Simon Says Stamp card base and Scor tape.
I got an idea for another coffee themed card, so I decided to link it up for the Blog Hop.
I bought this frog stamp from Crackerbox Palace at the Mesa Rubber Stamp Show. I bought it to go with a sentiment stamp that I found at the show that made me laugh out loud. For this blog hop though, the sentiment I chose here went with the theme much better.
I think it turned out rather well, teamed up with the coffee themed patterned paper from Moxie/
Supplies: Crackbox Palace frog and sentiment stamps, Copic X-press it paper, Copic markers, Moxie patterned paper,Scor tape, Wink of Stella glitter http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2016/03/spring-coffee-lovers-blog-hop-2/
